With three event weekends and six races in the books, the Formula Pro USA Western Championships Presented by Exclusive Racing will now shift its focus to the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca at the end of the month. Completing the fifth and sixth rounds in the twelve-race championship at Thunderhill Raceway Park, Formula Pro USA had three winners this past weekend as the series reaches the midway point.

“It was great to be back at Thunderhill,” explained BD Morgan. “We had three different winners this weekend with Nicole Havrda taking both wins in the Formula Pro USA F3 class. Congrats to our F4 winners James Lawley and Dmitrii Pistolyako as they split the victories as both championships remain wide open.”

With Havrda (Valley Kitchens) taking the win in rounds five and six this past weekend, she was also able to earn two bonus points on Sunday for the fastest race lap. It was Jay Horak (World Speed Motorsports) who earned the two bonus points on Saturday as he earned a pair of second-place results and currently trails Havrda by forty-five points, 156 to 111. Larry Schnur (World Speed Motorsports) was also in action this past weekend and scored a pair of third place results.

Dmitrii Pistolyako was the driver to beat in the first F4 wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend as the Doran Motorsports Group driver added another victory to his resume and increased his overall point lead. Preston Lambert (World Speed Motorsports) turned up for his first race of the season and immediately made an impact with a P2 result, just ahead of the third-place finisher James Lawley (Atlantic Racing Team) who also scored the race’s fastest lap. On Sunday, it was the speed of Lawley that could not be held back as he climbed to the top step of the podium with the win and bonus points for once again scoring the fastest lap of the race while Dmitrii Pistolyako crossed the line in second. Alex Cornfield (World Speed Motorsports) found his way to the podium in round six claiming P3 at the checkered flag.

Morgan continued, “It is great to see different drivers on the podium every race. With our next event at the famed Laguna Seca, we are expecting an increase in both entries and competition and likely some new names on the podium by the end of the event.”
