Series Points – Formula Pro USA

Welcome to the official points and scoring page for Formula Pro USA. Our points system is designed to reward consistency, speed, and competitive excellence across all our racing divisions.

Our Championships

Points are awarded and tracked across four distinct championships throughout the season:

  • FPUSA-3 Championship: The premier driver’s championship for competitors racing in the Formula 3 / Ligier JS F3 category.
  • FPUSA-4 Championship: The dedicated driver’s championship for competitors racing in the Formula 4 / Ligier JS F4 category.
  • WRS (Womens Racing Series) Championship: An exclusive championship designed to highlight and elevate female racers. WRS competitors race integrated within the FPUSA-4 field, meaning they simultaneously score points toward the overall FPUSA-4 Championship and compete directly against one another for exclusive WRS points position to crown a dedicated Womens Racing Series Champion.
  • Team Championship: Rewarding the collective efforts and preparation of our racing teams across the season. (See below for Team Championship scoring details).
Calculation of Points
  • 1st = 25 Points
  • 2nd = 18 Points
  • 3rd = 15 Points
  • 4th = 12 Points
  • 5th = 10 Points
  • 6th = 8 Points
  • 7th = 6 Points
  • 8th = 4 Points
  • 9th = 2 Points
  • 10th = 1 Point

Fastest Lap Each Race = 2 Points – Fastest Lap Each Race is determined by lap times per the official timing and scoring of that race by the race sanctioning body

Ties – Tie Breakers will be determined by the best qualifying times per that round as per the official timing and scoring of that session by the race sanctioning body

2026 FPUSA Race Drop Rules
  • Drivers may drop two (2) Race Rounds while vying for the Season Championship.
  • Drivers that miss a race weekend will have those two (2) Race Rounds automatically dropped from their Season Championship Points Total.
  • Drivers that attend all 12 Race Rounds will have their two (2) lowest points total Race Rounds automatically dropped from their Season Championship Points Total.

Team Championship Scoring

The Team Championship utilizes the same points scale as the driver championships, with the following stipulations:

  • Only the top two highest-placing cars for a given team in each class will earn points toward the Team Championship for that specific race round.
  • Teams fielding a single car are fully eligible to compete for the Team Championship and will collect the points generated by their single entry.
